The 436th & 512th Airman and Family Readiness Center is hosting a family resource fair and picnic for our deployed/mobilized families on 5 June from 1-4pm. This event will be held at the Eagles Nest pavilion area. Our focus will be sustainment for deployed/mobilized members and their families. We hope that you and your family are available to join us for what will be a fabulous day!The following list is inclusive of the support organizations taking part at the event:
From the JOINT FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER (JFRC) are Military One Source, Military and Family Life Consultant (non medical counselor) and a Personal Financial Counselor.
From the base and local organizations are Airman & Family Readiness, Key Spouse Program, Tricare, Employee Support of Guard & Reserve (ESGR), Operation Military Kids 4-H, Legal, Pay, Health & Wellness Center (HAWC), USO, Leisure Travel, Base Chaplains and Family Advocacy. For the kids, we will have a bounce house, face painting, and other activities.
The Veterans Administration (VA) will also be hosting an OIF/OEF Welcome Home event at the very same time at the AMC Museum at Dover AFB, DE. This is the first time the VA has held an event of this magnitude at DAFB. The VA will have numerous civilian and government organizations on location to provide informational resources. Their goal is to provide information on benefits such as health care, dental, coordination of care, and other benefits. The Department of Labor will also be in attendance to assist veterans with training and employment opportunities.
Historically, their events have been held at the VA hospital in Wilmington, so this is a change in venue that we are really excited to be taking part. In addition to all the benefit information, the VA has arranged for 150 classic and hot rod cars to be displayed at the AMC Museum. They will also have a fire department and Delaware State Police display. The Delaware Army National Guard band will be providing live music at this event and the U.S. Marine Corps drill team will be in attendance.
Access between the AMC Museum and the Eagles Nest pavilion area will be made available for military and family members. As you can see, we are providing educational resources as well as entertainment to make this day special.
Food will be provided in the Eagles Nest location as well as the AMC museum.
This is a wonderful opportunity to ensure our members and their families have access to all of the resources available to them. This is going to be a great sustainment event and we hope that you’re available to be a part of it!
